Weekly Photo Challenge: Future Tense

the daily post wordpress.com weekly photo challenge

What will she be?

She holds the fate of the 1 billion people residing in India. It is her decisions in life which will dictate whether she will be an aid or an impediment to the needs of society and it all depends on her upbringing through the years. She may choose to respect the wishes of her parents, pursue her own dreams or be an ignorant of her responsibility as a citizen. There is no way to be certain of what the future will bring. What we can be be sure of is how we as a community will choose to treat her. All we can hope for is that she become someone she herself can be proud of. To always ensure that her every action from then on is pure and good as she is right now.

Safety and security don’t just happen, they are the result of collective consensus and public investment. We owe our children, the most vulnerable citizens in our society, a life free of violence and fear. – Nelson Mandela

Weekly Photo Challenge: Lunchtime

Fresh & Crisp Chicken Caesar Salad by S&R

Fresh & Crisp Chicken Caesar Salad by S&R

As I encourage myself to be fit and healthy, I chose this photo of a Chicken Caesar Salad made by S&R, commonly described as the Costco of the Philippines. The colourful dish contains lettuce, tomato, carrots, bacon bits and cherry tomatoes with a garnish of croutons and slices of cheese.  I just wish the store was situated near our office so I can enjoy this hearty meal everyday. The weather in the Philippines is scorching hot especially at noon so it’s not advisable to walk going there on a daily basis. By the time you walk back, your sweat glands are so active that you can’t even appreciate the good lunch you’ve just had. The other salads across our building is just not as filling and fresh.

Keep as near as ever you can to the first sources of supply—fruits and vegetables.

How about you, what’s your favorite lunch?

Your Singapore

Goodbye, Singapore! Till we meet again. [Day 4 of 4]

Grand Hyatt Pool, Straits Kitchen, Grand Hyatt Singapore, Orchard Road, Kopitiam, Changi Airport

Our short trip had unfortunately come to an end and what better way to bid adieu to the beautiful city of Singapore than to take a dip in the pool, indulge in the hotel’s buffet and stroll in the vibrant shopping district of Orchard Road.

When you’re young, everything feels like the end of the world. But it’s not. It’s just the beginning.

Walking around Singapore

Wandering around Singapore and Enjoying Night Safari [Day 3 of 4]

Straits Kitchen, Grand Hyatt Singapore, Singapore Management University, Singapore art Museum, Central Public Library, Bugis Street, Subway, Funan DigitaLife Mall, Civil Defence Heritage Gallery, Singapore Philatelic Museum, Armenian Apostolic Church or St. Gregory the Illuminator, Night Safari

Still on a high from our indoor skydiving experience, I was quite ecstatic to visit Singapore Management University. I will forever be grateful for being given a chance to study for a semester in such a free-spirited and aesthetically designed campus. Not only does SMU offer an engaging and holistic environment but also a competitive and enthusiastic student body. The professors were knowledgeable and taught not only by textbook but also related the concepts to practical real-life scenarios.

The closest thing I have ever done to skydiving. I can't wait to try the real thing!

Indoor Skydiving with iFly Singapore at Sentosa [Day 2 of 4]

Resorts World Singapore, Candylicious, Din Tai Fung, Sentosa, iFly Singapore, Spigen SGP, Makansutra

It was a sunny day and what better way to enjoy it by visiting the man-made island paradise in Singapore? Before that, we indulged in our complementary hearty continental  breakfast from Straits Kitchen of Grand Hyatt Singapore. I’m a breakfast and buffet person so I couldn’t be more delighted to have been given the chance to start the day right! Nothing beats having a full range of breakfast dishes. I just knew my day would be perfect and I couldn’t be more right! Great things were headed our way.

Cavanagh Bridge is the only suspension road in Singapore.

Revisiting the Beautiful City of Singapore [Day 1 of 4]

Grand Hyatt Singapore, Food Republic, Gardens by the Bay, Marina Bay Sands, Louis Vuitton Island Maison, Cavanagh Bridge, Fullerton Hotel, Merlion Park and Food Opera.

The last time I was in Singapore was in late 2007 when I was in an exchange student program where I got to take up Finance and Economics courses in Singapore Management University. I have never been back since then so I was more than ecstatic to return to a familiar country I once considered as my home.

All I can say that it’s been an amazing experience so far! The overwhelming support I’ve received from my friends, readers and fellow bloggers all over the world is deeply humbling and heart warming. I entered this blog exchange competition not expecting that I would be even in the top 100 blogs worldwide. Undoubtedly making me feel that when you yourself start to believe that you are capable of reaching your dreams and passions, then people would start believing and your true potential surfaces.

Why I'll never stop travelling

Why I’ll never stop travelling

I’m sure we all have our own reasons why we love to travel. Well I’d just like to share my own in response to The Big Blog Exchange’s blog entry.

To experience something new

For people like me who have to work 9 hours 5 days in a week, it’s vital for us to get introduced to something new every now and then because our life becomes a routine at some point. Doing the same thing over and over again can be dull and we need some form of excitement to spice up our life. And for me that’s where travelling comes in.

When we tried the world’s largest themed wind tunnel for indoor skydiving of iFly Singapore, I was so thrilled and excited. I never knew that I would ever experience even the slightest feeling of skydiving. I am terrified at the thought of free-falling so this was something I never thought I’d be doing. That simple experience made me so happy that now I am willing to go skydiving in the future. That moment of our travel escapade surely made me intoxicated with happiness. I even have proof, just look at my smile in the photo. Ah!

It all began when Continue reading
